4th AJD Industry Days – Call for projects 2025
We invite documentary projects in development, pre-production, production, and rough-cut stages to submit their projects through the portal from 3 March until 31 May 2025.
This is the right address for your unique documentary project ideas in various stages of production. We offer you the opportunity to pitch your project to Al Jazeera Media Network decision-makers and many other leading industry professionals from around the globe. AJD Industry Days will be held from September 13-15, 2025 in Sarajevo.
The Call for Projects is exclusively for documentary filmmakers and producers from the Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region or documentary projects dealing with topics related to these areas.
AJD Industry Days invites you to submit your projects via Submit a Project Form at the industry.ajbdoc.ba. Entries are open from 3rd March to 31st May 2025. Project submission is free of charge and accepted projects will be notified of the results by the end of July 2025.
AJD Industry Days is announcing a call for the following projects:
• MAIN PITCH – accepting all stages of project development and production by independent filmmakers and production companies
• ROUGH CUT – projects in the final stages of production, intended for broadcast on Al Jazeera or other international broadcasters and platforms
• BALKANS PITCH – Specially invited projects suitable for regional and international co-production with Al Jazeera Balkans, Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, and other broadcasters
Accepted project owners will be informed accordingly and invited to present their projects on-site in Sarajevo to this year’s board of international broadcasters and prominent professionals that will decide on the winners who will obtain funding for documentary production and support for their broadcast, distribution, screening, and sales worldwide.

Industry Days is a forum dedicated to supporting the expansion of documentaries worldwide, including international co-productions, and aims to match key decision-makers with interesting and valuable projects. It will offer SEE, Caucasus, and MENA documentary filmmakers and producers the opportunity to network with regional and international documentary and TV leading industry professionals to help secure funding for their projects.
The total prize fund provided by Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, Al Jazeera Balkans and all project partners in previous years was around 100,000 USD, and a comparable prize fund will be allocated this year, too.
AJD Industry Days is held alongside the Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC) which became recognized as a unique platform for TV documentaries regionally and worldwide. AJB DOC Film Festival will be held from 12th to 16th September 2025.
